Dyslexia Has a Champion in Lakeland, Florida

The Roberts Academy is an educational outreach of Florida Southern College and began in 2010 with a generous donation from Hal and Marjorie Roberts. It is located on the college's beautiful campus – at the corner of Frank Lloyd Wright Way and Lake Hollingsworth Road.

The Academy's purpose is to help children in grades 2-6 who struggle with reading because of dyslexia. According to the school's web site, it is “the first transitional school for children with dyslexia in the state of Florida and one of only a few comprehensive schools for such students in the United States."
